There have been many quarantine songs, but none of them have managed to be subversive and fierce – until now.
“National Health Service” features a spoken word piece cut up over a manic, intense background of instrumentation seemingly inspired by the entire 80s alternative music genre. There is a hint of New Order, just a little Nitzer Ebb, and even a bit borrowed from Two Men, a Drum Machine and a Trumpet.
It’s the first track about quarantine that will make you move – and you should, after months of being trapped in the living room.
